The Sound Collectors Lab

A creative lab for new music based at Monash University. Directed by Louise Devenish, we research and develop new modes of music creation, notation and presentation, apply them in collaborative performance works, and critically reflect on these practices and methodologies through public performances, recordings, talks and scholarly publications. The Sound Collectors Lab expands to a wider group of creative collaborators including artists, artist-scholars and academics interested in interdisciplinary research-based artistic practice working across composition, sound design, performance, studio engineering, design, science and the visual arts.

Decibel is directed by Cat Hope. Louise has been a core artist with Decibel since 2013.
